Jon Moxley Named PWI's 2020 Wrestler Of The Year
AEW World Champion snaps up illustrious magazine's annual award.
Jon Moxley is number one in the 2020 PWI 500.
Pro Wrestling Illustrated's annual list ranks the industry's best and brightest in with various kayfabe components every year, with the AEW Heavyweight Champion coming out on top following a post-WWE career made up almost entirely of victories.
Moxley has yet to suffer a singles loss in the company since debuting with the organisation at Double Or Nothing 2019, and juggled his schedule to fit in a G1 run that saw him undefeated for the first five nights of the tournament. In that time, he's also won the United States Championship twice and scored high profile wins over Lance Archer, Juice Robinson and his own personal Young Lion Shota Umino.
PWI's official Twitter listed the criteria included "Win-loss record, technical ability, influence on the sport, success against the highest grade of competition, success against the most diverse competition and activity". Shoot or work, it's very hard to argue against his placement above all the rest.
AEW paid tribute to the star on last night's edition of Dynamite, adding to the plaudits ahead of his next defence of the company's top title against hated heel MJF.
