Jon Moxley's Next AEW World Title Challenger Confirmed
No Holds Barred on 15 April, baby.
Jake Hager will challenge for Jon Moxley's AEW World Championship on the 15 April episode of Dynamite, the promotion has confirmed.
The bout was made official on last night's Dynamite. It comes following weeks of heat between the two, stemming from Hager's role in triple powerbombing Mox from the stage, forcing 'The Purveyor of Violence' off television for a short while.
The stipulation? No Holds Barred.
Hager has emerged as Moxley's top contender not only through his interactions with the former Dean Ambrose, but good old-fashioned wins and losses. 'The Big Hurt' is 5-0 in AEW, having only made his in-ring debut against Dustin Rhodes at Revolution in late February, and shot to number two the promotion's latest rankings - with only Inner Circle stablemate Chris Jericho ahead of him.
The latest episode of Dark saw Hager beat Moxley down after a quick squash victory, following-up from the previous week's Dynamite on which Jake was forced to powder after getting attacked by the champ.
A video package/interview segment encompassing all that's happened in the feud so far aired on yesterday's Dynamite, with Moxley claiming he'd put his life on the line for the gold.
