Weeks of tryouts, Main Event appearances, and Scarlett-less experiments came to fruition on last night's WWE Raw, as NXT Champion Karrion Kross formally debuted on WWE's former flagship show.

This was advertised throughout the show, as WWE built hype through an announcement graphic and short video package. Unfortunately, this was where the positives ended for Kross.

As had been rumoured, Kross appeared without Scarlett, who has been tethered to the big man for the duration of his highly successful NXT run. He walked to the ring alone for a debut match with Jeff Hardy, who brought back his old 'No More Words' theme song for the occasion and while dominant for a short period, Kross was defeated.

In under two minutes.

Surviving an early Twist of Fate and attempted Swanton Bomb, Kross was pinned when Hardy, a babyface, put his feet on the ropes after rolling him up. Karrion then promised revenge in a short post-match interview with Kevin Patrick, saying Hardy had made the biggest mistake of his life.

A concerning debut to say the least, particularly given Kross' lack of crowd reaction. Presentation-wise, he suffers without Scarlett, who has had main roster tryouts of her own, and a sub-two-minute loss does nothing to build the mythical "momentum" WWE announcers so often mention.
