Sources within WWE told the outlet that the company has been “ecstatic” with Kross’ ability to get himself over, particularly through his social media engagement and recent work on Raw. While he has not been positioned as a top star in the company, Kross has found ways to keep himself in the conversation.

Despite inconsistent booking throughout his main roster run, Kross has gained a cult following for his dry humour and self-aware social media presence. Fans have particularly embraced his comedic timing in recent weeks, both online and in on-screen segments, proving his ability to keep himself relevant even when not consistently featured in high-profile storylines.

As of now, it remains unclear whether Kross is actively negotiating a new deal with WWE.

His last televised match took place on the December 9th 2024 episode of Raw, where he teamed with The Authors of Pain and The Miz in a losing effort against The Wyatt Sicks. This obviously predated AOP and Paul Ellering's releases in early 2025. This isn’t Kross’ first time facing uncertainty in WWE either. He and Scarlett were released in November 2021 but were swiftly rehired in 2022 when Triple H took control of WWE creative. Prior to his return, Kross was reportedly offered a one-off match in AEW, which he declined. While there have been no reports of further discussions with Tony Khan’s promotion, Kross made well-received appearances in MLW and NJPW during his time away from WWE.
