Kenny Omega Wins AEW World Title At Winter Is Coming
Kenny Omega defeated Jon Moxley to become AEW World Champion at Winter Is Coming.
Kenny Omega is your new All Elite Wrestling World Champion, having defeated Jon Moxley to capture the promotion's top title at Winter is Coming last night.
'The Cleaner' seized the belt via dastardly means. After a long, gruelling battle, Omega ate a Paradigm Shift into a ringside heater, prompting official Paul Turner to call for medical assistance. Guest commentator Don Callis then hit the ring, slipping a microphone towards Omega in the confusion, with Kenny using it to bust Mox open after being dragged back into the ring.
A series of bludgeonous V-Trigger knees followed. Finally, Omega hoisted Moxley up, nailed the One-Winged Angel, and scored the 1, 2, 3, becoming AEW's third World Champion in the process.
Callis and Omega were quick to leave the building after that, with Callis confirming the duo would explain themselves on next Tuesday's Impact Wrestling show. Callis is that promotion's Executive Vice President, so it looks like a working agreement may already be in place.
Moxley's World Title reign ended after 277 days. That Omega went back on his gentlemen's agreement to win via such nefarious means guarantees revenge will be on Mox's mind. For now, however, his World Title is gone.
