'Killer' Tim Brooks Passes Away At 72

Veteran professional wrestler 'Killer' Tim Brooks has passed away following a battle with cancer. He was 72 years old.
A true pro-wrestling globe-trotter, Brooks rose to prominence in that National Wrestling Alliance's Michigan territory back in the 1970s, working under the original Sheik. He was a two-time NWA World Tag Team Champion and became a steady mid-tier heel for World Class Championship Wrestling while the promotion was syndicated nationally, but was also well-known for his work in Puerto Rico and Japan, working extensively with close friend Bruiser Brody.
1986 saw Brooks score a significant push alongside Brody in Montreal though he was also a significant figure in Georgia, where he infamously sold the National Heavyweight Title to Larry Zbyszko in an infamous 1983 angle. He ended up wrestling until 1997 when he opened the North American Wrestling Alliance school in his native Texas, with the likes of the original Awesome Kong (not to be confused with Impact/AEW's monster heel) and NXT's Keith Lee amongst his more notable trainees.
