King Of The Ring & Queen's Crown Finalists Confirmed On WWE SmackDown
WWE determined both male and female finalists from SmackDown's side for Crown Jewel.
WWE motored two SmackDown stars towards Crown Jewel on Friday night's episode.
Firstly, Finn Bálor defeated Sami Zayn in a spirited semifinal to advance into the King Of The Ring final - he'll meet either Jinder Mahal or Xavier Woods in Saudi Arabia next week. Some fans already believe (due to his excitement about the entire tournament) that it's a forgone conclusion: Woods vs. Bálor could happen.
Next, the company put Zelina Vega over Carmella to become the first finalist for the Queen's Crown tourney. Liv Morgan distracted 'Mella by stealing her glittery protective face mask, and that opened the door for Vega to score the win.
She'll wrestle Shayna Baszler or Doudrop in Saudi.
It's hard to begrudge Zelina this success. Most fans would agree that she hasn't been booked well at all since returning to the company, but this Queen's Crown business has been a step in the right direction. Will WWE go all the way with the mini-push, turn it into a full-blown one and have her topple either Baszler or Doudrop?
Only time will tell. Both SmackDown finalists are set in stone, at least.
