Kofi Kingston took eleven long years to reach the summit of WWE, but all of eleven seconds to come crashing straight back down. The New Day man's WWE Title run was effectively expunged from the record books when he was obliterated by Brock Lesnar on SmackDown's big FOX debut, wiping away all the euphoria from his WrestleMania win in one fell swoop.

On television, Kofi seemed to take the loss in his stride; he was back to his happy self in the space of just seven days, as though nothing had ever happened. Behind the curtain however, he was obviously hurting - as he revealed to talkSPORT's Alex McCarthy in a recent interview.

"It was a bit of a disappointment to go out there and have it go so quickly - on the biggest night of SmackDown," Kingston admitted. "To have it end like that is a little bit disheartening."

Ultimately, Kofi accepted the defeat for what it is, and has decided to view things philosophically:

"At the end of the day, it is what it is. It's not like I can do anything about it."

That's the spirit!
