WWE has officially announced Kurt Angle for the 2017 Hall of Fame.

The story was first reported by ESPN.com, and shortly after WWE put it up on their website.

Triple H had this to say about the three time Olympic gold medalist joining the Hall:

"Kurt Angle's accomplishments both in the Olympics and WWE were extraordinary. He was one of the most gifted athletes to ever enter the ring, and we are honored to welcome him into the WWE Hall of Fame."

Angle has not appeared in WWE in any form since 2006. He spent a decade in TNA before leaving the company in March of 2016. He has teased coming back to WWE multiple times since then, but nothing ever came of it until now.

This is pretty big news, and Angle is obviously deserving of induction. For years it seemed that WWE wanted nothing to do with him, but it looks like they're ready to do business again. No word on if he'll actually wrestle for them, but this certainly opens up the door at least a little bit for that to come to fruition.

Even though Angle is 48-years-old, he can still bring it in the ring. Angle will be wrestling for our sister promotion WCPW in the main event of the upcoming True Destiny iPPV in Milton Keynes on February 12.
