Fightful have reported that Lance Storm still intends to work his last match against first ever opponent and former tag team partner Chris Jericho before he retires from in-ring competition for good.

The most recent report follows a Twitter exchange earlier this year between Storm and user @aware86. He asked "I know you’re downplaying another match, but is it true Jericho wants his last match to be against you? To bookend his career? Hope you’re well Lance. Stay safe. Love from the UK". Storm succintly replied with "We’ve both talked about doing that".

Storm was last in the ring on April 4th 2016, losing to Jericho's current AEW colleague Matt Hardy in a WrestleCon match for the OMEGA Heavyweight Championship. He'd battled for the Ring Of Honor Championship against Jay Lethal a fortnight earlier.

Jericho and Storm broke in together in 1990, working their first match against one another later that year. The pair last shared the ring at ECW One Night Stand 2005. Storm won the electric opener, in what (to date) turned out to be his last ever in-ring appearance with WWE.
