Although she hasn't yet appeared for them, Mercedes Moné is reportedly still AEW-bound.

Fightful Select, which initially reported that the former Sasha Banks was headed to AEW more than a month ago and hasn't wavered, provided a joint update Thursday from Sean Ross Sapp and Mat Men Radio's Andrew Zarian.

On Dynamite Wednesday, it was revealed that Tony Khan would have an announcement on next week's program. While nothing has been confirmed, Fightful indicated that it was implied that the announcement would be related to the impending appearance of Moné in All Elite Wrestling. Even then, Fightful wasn't told that Moné's signing would be specifically mentioned as part of next week's announcement.

Fightful went on to state that numerous talent have said they've been told that the working plan is for Mercedes to "physically appear" for the company in March, most likely after the Revolution PPV on 3 March. It's still not confirmed when she could make an in-ring wrestling debut. Moné has been out of action since May 2023, when she was injured at New Japan Pro Wrestling's Resurgence PPV during the finals of a tournament to crown the inaugural Strong Women's Champion.

Despite rumors, Fightful indicated that her signing was never going to be announced during last weekend's Collision.

WWE sources told Fightful that by the end of December, the company knew they weren't going to land Mercedes, and she likely wouldn't have been able to wrestle at the Royal Rumble regardless.

Sources in WWE and AEW talent both believe Moné has been signed with AEW "for weeks," Fightful reported, though AEW hasn't officially confirmed that or other parts of the site's reporting.
