John Cena fired up the London crowd with talk of WrestleMania hitting the English capital during his promo at WWE Money in the Bank 2023 this Saturday (1 July) - and Fightful Select has come through with an update on the situation.

The outlet notes that realistically, 2026 would be the earliest WWE could take 'Mania to London for the first time. WrestleMania XL is already set for Philadelphia, Pennsylvania next year, while WWE is also in the process of finalising another city in the United States for 2025.

Sources have indicated to WWE that they don't see WrestleMania heading to London in 2026 as being "likely on the horizon."

Interestingly, though, a survey occurred during WWE's media area around Money in the Bank this past week. Opinions were gauged on hypothetical UK cities for a future SummerSlam or Royal Rumble event, including London, Manchester, Birmingham, and Glasgow.

Speaking at WWE's post-Money in the Bank 2023, WWE's Chief Content Officer, Paul 'Triple H' Levesque, wouldn't commit to 'Mania in London. Levesque claimed Cena had put him in an "unenviable position" with his fire-up promo. Dave Meltzer has since noted in the Wrestling Observer's Daily Update column that Cena was "working" in his pro-London spiel.
