Don Callis was legitimately hurt in the backstage angle that left him floored and bloodied on last night's episode of AEW Dynamite.

PWInsider's Mike Johnson reports that the blood pouring from Callis' forehead following his ambush by the Blackpool Combat Club was real. Kenny Omega's manager apparently hit his head while going down after being punched by Jon Moxley, with the Canadian getting "dinged up."

AEW's announcers noting that Callis was being checked out, medically, following the angle was a legitimate call. Don was hurt, though there's currently no word on his condition.

Callis was struck down as part of a segment that started with the Blackpool Combat Club assaulting 'Hangman' Adam Page during an interview. Initially a bystander, Don watched Page get floored before the BCC turned to him, with Moxley throwing the strike. When the cameras caught up with Callis as he was laying on the floor, he was nursing a bloody wound on his forehead.

The angle was done to further the ongoing storyline between the Blackpool Combat Club and The Elite, which accelerated with The Young Bucks being hospitalised by unknown assailants on last week's show. With Callis sidelined, Kenny Omega was forced to wrestle Jeff Cobb on his own last night, successfully defending the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship.
