Lena Headey & Nick Frost Join WWE's Paige Movie
A star-studded line-up for Fighting With My Family.
Following on from Tuesday's news that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is producing (and will play a cameo role) in a new movie chronicling the true story of former WWE Divas Champion Paige and her pro-wrestling family, two new actors have signed on to play crucial roles.
Deadline reports that Game Of Thrones star Lena Headey has been cast as Paige's mother, Julia Hamer-Bevis, who remains active on the independent circuit today.
Shaun Of The Dead's Nick Frost will appear alongside her, and while his role hasn't yet been announced yet, he'll like play Paige's father Ian Bevis, another wrestler and reformed British gangster.
The Falling actress Florence Pugh will play Paige herself, while Jack Lowden (Dunkirk, '71) will portray her brother Zak. Stephen Merchant (The Office, Extras) will write and direct the picture, with The Rock's Seven Bucks Productions sharing production duties with WWE Films.
Titled Fighting With My Family, the film is based on The Wrestlers: Fighting With My Family, a 2012 Channel 4 documentary charting Paige and her family on their journey through wrestling.
Like the documentary, the movie is expected to focus on Paige and Zak's quest to become WWE superstars, and the strain and stress it brought their family along the way.
