For the past few days, rumors - spurred on by comments made by Court Bauer on MLW Radio - have been running rampant that longtime WWE ring announcer Lilian Garcia has been released from the company.

On Saturday, Garcia took to Facebook to put an end to the speculation, revealing that her employment with the company is secure and she's been absent from television to be with her ailing father.

Garcia offered her fans insight as to the condition of her father, a retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel battling bladder cancer and multiple myeloma. His chemotherapy treatments had rendered him ill in recent weeks and forced him to undergo a pair of emergency procedures, but he is currently doing better. Garcia, who missed Payback and the two subsequent Raws, has announced that she'll be back on TV this Monday.

Lilian Garcia first joined WWE as a ring announcer in the summer of 1999, and soon began performing the U.S. national anthem at live events. She continued in that capacity - and occasionally took part in storylines - until fall of 2009, when she left the company of her own volition. She returned full-time to her old position in fall of 2011, and she's worked in that capacity ever since.
