Lio Rush Joins 205 Live
Ace aerialist and 'Man Of The Hour' fast-tracked to the main roster
As revealed via an introductory vignette on June 5th's edition of 205 Live, Lio Rush will redebut as a Cruiserweight in the near future as he prepares to dazzle on the Tuesday Night light-heavyweight vehicle.
The controversial Rush signed with the company back in August 2017, but made few friends early on in his tenure with an ill-advised tweet at Emma's expense following her surprise release shortly after a pay-per-view loss to recent NXT graduate Asuka.
Already divisive thanks to a rapid-fire and high risk style that often sacrifices psychology for super-heroics, Rush's cards were subsequently marked early into his life as a developmental star. Matches against Velveteen Dream and Lars Sullivan weren't designed to focus on his eye-popping skill, and he's since been A.W.O.L across the entire organisation's bloated output.
Rush's speed and agility should be a good fit on the broadly rejuvenated broadcast, particularly with current Cruiserweight Champion Cedric Alexander short on genuinely exciting opponents for his title going forward.
A dark cloud of irony will linger over his eventual debut - in the time between his misguided tweet and his potentially spectacular arrival, Asuka's found herself not ready for WWE's challenging booking since losing to Charlotte at WrestleMania 34. Rush would be wise to keep relatively quiet online over the weeks and months, especially when his wild athleticism can do most of the talking for him.
