Lio Rush Taken To ER After Injury At PWG Battle Of Los Angeles
Rush was wrestling fellow former WWE wrestler Buddy Matthews when he got hurt.
Lio Rush was injured while wrestling Buddy Matthews at yesterday's PWG Battle of Los Angeles show.
The duo were wrestling on the tournament's second night, contesting a second-round clash after defeating Jack Carthweel (Rush) and JONAH (Matthews) the night before. Lio technically won via disqualification, as Matthews continued beating him down after hitting a curb stomp, doing so while the referee checked on the 27-year-old.
On Twitter, @LordAkiyama stated that Rush was likely hurt by the curb stomp itself:-
The injury point was when Buddy hit the Rollins' style Curb Stomp. Not sure if he hit a sensitive spot or if he came down harder than expected. Given Excalibur's reprimand, my hypothesis is Buddy might've slipped slightly on a spot wetted by a thrown drink (just a guess).

Lio was tended to after the match. Later on, Matthews came out to take the injured Rush's spot in the tournament semi-finals, telling the live crowd that his second-round opponent had been taken to ER (per the Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online).
Later, Rush tweeted that while he wasn't good, he'll be back:-
Just being honest with you guys here. I’m not good. But i will be good. And when I’m back, I’ll be dangerous. #ManOfTheHour.

There is currently no word on the severity or exact nature of Lio's injury. Best wishes to him in his recovery nonetheless.
The 27-year-old is on the verge of becoming a free agent, as his contract with All Elite Wrestling is due to expire on 14 February. On top of wrestling, Rush recently hit Twitter to confirm that he has signed a recording contract with Universal Music Group.
