Logan Paul Has Spoken To Triple H About Facing THIS Major Star At WWE WrestleMania 39
Logan Paul has his sights on a huge WrestleMania match next year.
Having recently competed for the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion in just his third ever match, Logan Paul has his eyes on John Cena for WWE WrestleMania 39.
Not just does Paul want a match against Cena at next year's Showcase of the Immortals, but the YouTube star has actually already spoken to Triple H about setting such a bout up for the 2023 'Mania.
Logan revealed this news during the latest episode of his Impaulsive podcast (as per WrestlingHeadlines.com), with him noting that he's exchanged text messages with the WWE Chief Content Officer about potentially wrestling Big Match John on the first night of WrestleMania 39 - which is coincidentally the same day (1 April) that Logan Paul celebrates his 28th birthday.
As Paul explained:
"After the Crown Jewel event, John Cena posted about me on his Instagram. And then I saw an article saying he's looking for an opponent at WrestleMania. I favourited it, responded with 'the eyes'. I mean, truthfully, I think me vs. John Cena would break the internet. I texted Triple H right away, 'Do you want me to break the internet again?' That's a dream match-up, dude. At WrestleMania, in LA, on my birthday. Triple H, throw me a bone, give me a birthday present, let me take out John Cena. And that'd be crazy."
Right now, Paul is recovering from a torn meniscus, MCL and ACL in his right knee, with the social media star having suffered these injuries during his match with Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel earlier this month. It's believed that said injuries occurred during the spot where Logan leaped from the top turnbuckle to put the Tribal Chief through the announce table.
As for John Cena, the 16-time World Champion is expected to compete at WrestleMania 39, although it remains to be seen who will be stood opposite the ring from Super Cena if he does indeed lace up his boots for the Granddaddy of Them All. Cena hasn't wrestled for over a year by this point, with his last televised bout being a losing effort against Roman Reigns at SummerSlam 2021. Since then, the future Hall of Fame headliner has had one more outing, teaming with the Mysterios to take on Reigns and the Usos in a post-SmackDown dark match a month after SummerSlam.
Emanating from Inglewood, California's SoFi Stadium, WrestleMania 39 is set for the weekend of 1 - 2 April.
Logan Paul, WWE Superstar
As mentioned, that Crown Jewel contest was only the third time that Logan Paul has competed in a wrestling ring.
Paul's first foray into the squared circle saw him team with the Miz against Rey and Dominik Mysterio at WrestleMania 38. There, after Logan and the A-Lister were victorious, Miz hit a post-match Skull Crushing Finale on his partner, in turn setting up a singles match between the pair at this year's SummerSlam. Much like his 'Mania performance, Paul again impressed against Miz, and he again wracked up another W.
Of course, Logan Paul's 2-0 undefeated streak became 2-1 when he stepped up to face Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel two weeks ago. Still, Paul once again put on performance that was stunning for somebody who was only in their third ever wrestling match.
Logan formally signed a multi-year WWE deal this past July, with that contract committing the hugely promising talent to several matches per year.
