King Cuerno, better known amongst fans of Mexican wrestling as El Hijo del Fantasma, is set to begin work with WWE this September.

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that the Lucha Underground star is one of a number of major names due to alight in Stamford this autumn. He went on to say that the company has been keeping tabs on the 35-year-old for a number of years, tempted by a Latin American wrestler who speaks fluent English. Until this point, Cuerno's LU contract has thwarted his signing.

That contract was the source of some considerable contention earlier this year, when the Mexican joined fellow Lucha Underground colleagues Ivelisse, Joey Ryan and Melissa Cervantes in filing a class action lawsuit against the company. The suit alleged that Lucha Underground's deals illegally restricted its wrestlers from working in their 'lawful profession'.

The ultimate invalidation of Cuerno's contract has allowed WWE to finally bag their man. Though details are sparse at present, it's likely the decorated AAA and CMLL champion will initially join the Performance Center.
