WWE called back to Hall of Famer Madusa throwing the company's Women's Championship in a trashcan during last night's NXT 2.0, effectively repeating the angle with Cora Jade.

Jade turned on partner Roxanne Perez during her former friend's NXT Women's Championship match with Mandy Rose last week. That the duo currently hold NXT's Women's Tag Team Titles complicated matters, though Cora took care of this by calling her championship a "lie", tossing it in the bin after her promo on Perez.

This was a repeat of one of the most shoot infamous angles in WCW history. On the 18 December episode of Monday Nitro, then-WWF Women's Champion Madusa threw her belt in the trash after crossing over from Vince McMahon's promotion, leading to WWE blacklisting her for two decades.

It seems Madusa was a fan of Jade bringing the set piece back. She tweeted during the show:-

Madusa re-entered WWE's good graces in 2015, when she was announced as part of that year's Hall of Fame class. This followed several years of expressing regret at how she'd handled joining WCW as WWF Women's Champion.

As for Jade, her split from Perez and trashing of the belt leaves the NXT Women's Tag Team Championships in flux.
