Having recently returned to the ring after a one-year absence, it appears that AEW's Scorpio Sky is now dealing with an injury. Be warned, there are spoilers for this week's AEW Rampage from here on out.

For this week's Rampage, Scorpio Sky was due to face Kip Sabian. With Rampage taped after last night's AEW Dynamite, Tony Khan addressed the Albany, New York crowd to inform them that the former SCU man was injured and would be replaced by Kommander in this match.

As of this writing, there are no further details on the specifics of Sky's injury or the severity of it.

Hopefully this issue is something that doesn't keep Scorpio out of action for too long, as the two-time TNT Champion has only recently returned to the ring after a year on the sidelines.

Bafflingly, it's one year and two days between Scorpio Sky's two most recent matches; the first of those being a loss to Wardlow on the 6 July 2022 episode of Dynamite, the second being a win over Action Andretti on the 8 July 2023 outing for Collision.

While there were rumblings of Sky dealing with a minor ankle issue during the early days of his absence from AEW programming, the belief is that his prolonged absence was merely down to AEW not having anything for Scorp across that time. Thankfully, the incredibly talented 40-year-old star has been afforded an opportunity to return to screens with the launch of AEW Collision last month.
