Per Fightful Select, Riho was due to feud with Serena Deeb prior to this injury. As of this writing, there's no word on how long the 27-year-old is expected to be out of action.

Despite being a major part of AEW during its early days, Riho has been a somewhat sporadic presence for the promotion in more recent times. On that front, she only wrestled nine televised AEW matches in 2023, and has had just four AEW matches so far this year. Before her most recent Collision contest against Lady Frost, Riho last wrestled in a Dynamite loss to Willow Nightingale back in March.

On the injury topic, Fightful notes how Yuka Sakazaki was another talent pencilled in to feud with Serena Deeb before Yuka suffered an injury back in April. The outlet also adds that Cole Karter - nowadays a staple of Ring of Honor - is expected to be on the shelf for several months after having surgery for a broken arm.
