Major AEW Favourite's Contract Expires In September
This hugely popular AEW star reveals their current contract is up in September.
With contracts being quite the hot topic in wrestling news cycles in recent weeks and months, AEW's Dustin Rhodes has now provided an update on his own contract status.
Responding to a comment on X, the Natural confirmed that his existing AEW deal is up in September, but reiterated that he doesn't intend to hang up his boots and indicated he'd like to remain #AllElite.
Wrong! Jeeze guys, do better. Yes my contract is up in September, and No, I am absolutely NOT DONE. Having the best matches of my life and hopefully, God willing I will get to retire on my own terms, respected with a full heart. Hopefully Negotiations go well because I am damn… https://t.co/vp1Yb56yIY— Dustin Rhodes (@dustinrhodes) July 17, 2024
A 36-year veteran of the squared circle - having made his in-ring bow in 1988 - Dustin Rhodes is an AEW Original, having competed at the company's first ever PPV, that being Double or Nothing 2019. Of course, at that event, Dustin faced his brother Cody in a war that remains one of the greatest matches in AEW history.
While Dustin is obviously a valued presence behind the scenes for AEW and, at 55 years of age, is still delivering excellent in-ring work, away from the promotion he also operates his own Rhodes Wrestling Academy in Leander, Texas.
