Major Backstage Update On Identify Of AEW's Devil
The field narrows for AEW's 'Devil' candidates.
The 'Devil' currently haunting MJF on AEW television is not CM Punk or Britt Baker, reports Fightful Select.
Multiple sources have confirmed that the people currently appearing in black bodysuits and masks in AEW are those planned for the final reveal. Some people within the promotion know the identities, though AEW is generally doing a good job of keeping things hush.
Regarding Punk, people close to the situation believe he isn't 'The Devil', saying that it would have to be a "huge work on those in the know" should the sacked star be revealed in the end. Fightful confirmed, too, that Punk hasn't been under the mask on television.
Punk himself has been encouraging speculation, posting Black Scorpion Instagram Stories and other teases to social media.
It isn't Britt Baker, either. Although her name has been linked heavily, people within the promotion have denied the rumours. Baker's real-life relationship with Adam Cole had made her a leading candidate in many circles.
AEW's 'Devil' made their most aggressive act against MJF on last week's Dynamite, leading their henchman in an assault on The Acclaimed, with Anthony Bowens getting thrown through a window.
