Kenny Omega will not be in Las Vegas, Nevada for AEW's Double Or Nothing 2022 pay-per-view this Sunday (29 May), reports Dave Meltzer.

Writing in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer reports that while the former AEW World Champion has been backstage at some recent tapings, he travelled too early into his healing process. At the time of writing, the 38-year-old had been away from the company for seven months due to myriad physical woes, including shoulder and knee issues, vertigo, a hernia, and possibly more.

While parts of Omega's body have healed quickly (to the extent that he is able to train them), others are taking more time.

Meltzer notes that at this point, Kenny is resigned to never being at 100% physically again. He hopes, however, that this recovery period will help prolong his run as an effective professional wrestler, reversing some of the damage done to his body over the years in the process.

For many fans, the biggest question surrounding Omega remains whether or not he will be back for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door on 26 June, having played a fundamental role in bridging the two companies. The latest reporting on the matter suggests this might be fanciful.
