Major Last-Minute Change Of Plans On Last Night's WWE Raw
A Canadian homecoming was scratched off the books Monday night.
On Raw Monday night, WWE Hall-of-Famer Lita returned, joining Becky Lynch to challenge Damage CTRL for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship, but that apparently was not the original plan.
Fightful Select reports that Trish Stratus was supposed to make her return to Raw Monday night during the Ding Dong Hello segment, but that did not happen due to a "creative change." The plans were so solid that Trish actually was at Raw in Ottawa but left the show before the segment went on.
Instead, Lita and Becky appeared together to challenge Dakota Kai & Iyo Sky, with Bayley accepting on their behalf after some back-and-forth.

This marks the second time in a month that Trish was rumored to appear on Raw in a segment involving Damage CTRL, with it previously reported that Stratus and Lita would vie for the tag titles at Elimination Chamber. That obviously didn't happen, with only Lita returning on the 6 February Raw to help Lynch during her steel cage match against Bayley.
WRKD Wrestling, who accurately reported on Lita's return a few weeks ago, tweeted that "Trish is still on the way":-
In case you couldn’t tell, plans changed last minute tonight.

Fightful noted that it's still unclear what the "creative change" was or what it means for a future Stratus return. WWE could be holding Trish back for a six-woman tag at WrestleMania, but it seems like having the Hall-of-Famer return in her native Canada would have been a no-brainer.
