Bobby Lashley isn't sweating AEW, or anybody else for that matter.

The reigning WWE Champion has told TV Insider that Vince McMahon's grip over the industry will "never be beaten or contested". Rather definitively, Lashley also said that WWE is "always going to be the flagship of professional wrestling".

"That's never going to change", he added.

Bobby was responding to questions from interviewers about recent company releases and how they've affected morale behind the scenes. He said "the feeling is good" backstage, and that predictions about WWE's downfall are way, way, way wide of the mark.

Most wrestling fans would expect Lashley (who has blossomed into a key figure for the promotion) to defend WWE, but he decided to go one step further and claim that nobody will ever knock McMahon off his lofty perch.

AEW is generally considered the biggest threat to WWE's crown since WCW - longevity will be crucial for Tony Khan's operation, but all signs suggest that he's game for a battle and enjoys offering up something different to Vince's product.

That alternative, to Lashley, doesn't mean that WWE is going anywhere or relinquishing top dog status.
