Major Update On Don Callis' Status In AEW & IMPACT Wrestling
Don Callis gets a new role in IMPACT, plus an update on his AEW future.
Don Callis' executive role in IMPACT Wrestling appears to have changed.
With the former Jackyl no longer listed as an IMPACT Vice President on the Anthem Sports & Entertainment website, Fightful Select are reporting that talent within the promotion believe Callis' role has either changed significantly or is about to.
The outlet spoke to IMPACT wrestlers who believe the Don will continue working as an on-screen performer, having worked with reduced duties lately. Per Fightful, Executive Vice President Scott D'Amore is currently "leading the charge" in the company.
Speaking on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that people within IMPACT believe that Callis is going to end up as an AEW full-timer, continuing as Kenny Omega's manager.
Callis has been with IMPACT since December 2017, when he and D'Amore were appointed co-EVPs. He has also worked as an announcer for the promotion, as well as bringing his double-act with Omega to the company, which began when Don assisted Kenny in his AEW World Championship victory over Jon Moxley at Winter is Coming last December.
For now, Callis remains a near ever-present on both IMPACT! and AEW Dynamite.
