MAJOR WrestleMania 35 Women's Title Match Change
A last minute change of plans?
WWE have apparently changed their plans regarding the SmackDown Women's Championship match at WrestleMania, replacing Lacey Evans with Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville against Asuka, according to John Pollock of Post Wrestling.
It had been anticipated for months that Asuka would defend her title on 'The Grandest Stage of Them All' against Evans, whose singles debut on the main roster has been teased since she was announced as one of six NXT wrestlers called up back in December.
However, it now appears that WWE have decided to go in a different direction with the SmackDown Women's Championship match, and have inserted Rose & Deville in the place of Evans, to make the contest a triple threat.
Despite the fact that Asuka has defeated both members of Fire & Desire in singles competition in the past week, fans seem to be far more enthused about this potential title match for 'Mania than what had previously been proposed.
Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville have been teasing a break-up of their duo after each member accidentally cost the other in matches against Asuka, which only adds more intrigue to the showdown between the three for the blue brands' women's championship at WrestleMania.
