Following plentiful speculation, Ricochet is now a free agent.

Previously, it was reported that the One and Only had opted to depart WWE when his current contract expired at some point in the summer, with rumblings that this deal was up in July. As per Fightful Select, the hugely talented 35-year-old's contract expired at midnight on 1 July.

This comes on the heels of Ricochet being moved to the Alumni section of WWE.com's roster page over the weekend, although it was noted at that time that he was still officially with the company. However, once midnight on 1 July rolled around, the former Intercontinental Champion became a free agent, with there an expectation that the one-time Prince Puma will indeed end up in AEW. Despite those AEW rumours, Fightful adds that Ricochet is not currently planned to face Will Ospreay at All In next month. Based on recent AEW TV, it would seem Ospreay will be squaring off with MJF, and possibly Daniel Garcia, at Wembley Stadium, but that's mere speculation on your writer's part.

For those wondering about Samantha Irvin - the fiancée of Ricochet - Fightful notes that she's expected to remain with WWE.
