Major WWE NXT Prospect Dealing With Visa Issues
Many had expected to see this hugely popular star at last night's Vengeance Day show.
A huge signing for WWE towards the end of last year, many were hoping to possibly see an appearance from Dragon Lee at last night's NXT Vengeance Day.
Of course, big NXT shows have had a habit over the years of featuring major new signings in the front row of an event shortly before they make their in-ring bow for the brand. For those hopeful of a Dragon Lee spotting yesterday, that unfortunately did not happen.
In an update on Lee's situation, today's episode of Wrestling Observer Radio saw Dave Meltzer note how the hugely talented star is currently dealing with visa issues right now. As a result, that ruled out a Vengeance Day appearance from the 27-year-old, and obviously puts a halt on any plans for the former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion to imminently debut in NXT.
The news of Dragon Lee signing with WWE was announced by the man himself, with Lee revealing this news at AAA Lucha Libre: Noche de Campeones on 28 December. After he and his brother Dralistico had defeated FTR to win the AAA Tag Team Titles, the second-generation talent declared how he'd signed with WWE and would be reporting to NXT in January.
Prior to joining WWE, Dragon Lee appeared on AEW programming alongside Andrade and Lee's other brother, RUSH. It was reportedly upon seeing Dragon Lee's work in AEW that WWE became interested in the one-time Ryu Lee.
