Major WWE Payback 2020 Production Flub Causes Clash Of Champions Confusion
Official date of September pay-per-view eventually confirmed by WWE.
WWE confirmed that Clash Of Champions will take place on September 27th, having presented two different dates during last night's Payback Pay-Per-View.
POST Wrestling's John Pollock was one of several to point on the discrepancy during the show, not least with both dates appearing just seconds apart from one another thanks to an advert airing shortly before commentators Michael Cole and Corey Graves went into further detail about the show.
The ever-diligent and detailed Pollock followed up just minutes later with confirmation of the correct date, noting again through his Twitter that he "Was just told from someone in the company that Sept. 27 is the accurate date for Clash of Champions".
Typically centred around all champions defending their titles, the September supershow could theoretically be one of the most stacked in recent months. As of writing, it'd feature matches starring Roman Reigns, Drew McIntyre, Bayley, Asuka, Jeff Hardy, Bobby Lashley, The Street Profits, Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax, Cesaro & Shinsuke Nakamura and Cedric Alexander. Not since WrestleMania has the company presented quite the collection of stars, and even the 'Show Of Shows' notably lacked new Universal Champion Reigns.
