WWE may have a surprising Becky Lynch return up its sleeve for Survivor Series 2022 (26 November).

The company's next premium live event brings the WarGames concept to the main roster for the first time in history. The women's bout is currently lopsided, with Bianca Belair, Asuka, Alexa Bliss, and Michin one wrestler down in their cage-bound brawl with Bayley, IYO SKY, Dakota Kai, Nikki Cross, and Rhea Ripley.

WWE announced during last night's Raw that the final participant would be named on Friday's SmackDown. This follows the heels scoring the numerical advantage in the bout, earned when Ripley defeated Asuka on Raw.

Rumours and speculation on who, exactly, may fill the final spot shall continue until Friday. Nonetheless, Fightful Select reports that Lynch will be back in WWE sooner rather than later, with the promotion "discussing and planning" the multi-time champion as a potential WarGames entrant.

Nothing is certain yet - and plans may change before Survivor Series arrives. Nonetheless, Becky's return would mark her first WWE appearance in four months, having suffered a separated shoulder while wrestling Belair at July's SummerSlam 2022. Lynch was then beaten up by Damage CTRL on Raw two nights later, writing her off television for the time being, so putting her in the cage with Bayley, SKY, and Kai makes narrative sense.

Fightful also notes that people within WWE are excited to work with Becky now that she is no longer "under the auspices of Vince McMahon's booking."

Becky emerged as a potential era-defining star with her incredibly over gimmick, 'The Man', in the build to WrestleMania 35. That night saw her make history by capturing both the Raw and SmackDown Women's Championships in the first women's main event in 'Mania history.
