The Fired Idol tweeted the following on Monday evening:-

I'm going back to Japan! I can only speak Makiglish but everyone was kind and I was very happy. Do you want to see me again? I'm sorry, the next schedule has not been decided. But I hope we can meet again! Thank you f*ck you all ?? #AEW

The 25-year-old left a big impression on AEW audiences after debuting in the Women's World Championship Eliminator Tournament in February. Eliminated by eventual winner Ryo Mizunami in the first round, she nonetheless stood out for her bold idol-based gimmick, returning for an acclaimed six-person tag during the bracket finals show two weeks later.

A surprise appearance on the Revolution 2021 Buy In pre-show followed, as Itoh tagged with Britt Baker to defeat Riho and Thunder Rosa. Itoh was then pinned by Rosa in a six-woman tag on last week's Dynamite. Finally, her AEW run concluded with a loss to Riho on Elevation yesterday.

It's hard to imagine a future in which Itoh doesn't eventually return, such is her popularity among the AEW faithful. For now, however, fans will have to catch her in her home promotion, Tokyo Joshi Pro.
