Malakai Black AEW Return Rumours Intensify... But Is He SCREWED? (AEW News)
People believe it's only a matter of time before Aleister/Malakai Black is back on AEW TV.
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select has confused a few people with the wording of their report about the chances of Aleister/Malakai Black eventually returning to AEW, but it appears there's a chance it could happen. The website noted that "sources that they spoke to in AEW do not believe that Malakai Black aka Aleister Black will not be back in AEW any time soon".
That phrasing has thrown some people off, but it appears that they're saying AEW sources refuse to rule out a comeback. Later in the write-up, they revealed that Sean Ross Sapp "was told that the bridge is not considered burned there". So, put another way, Black still has friends within the company.
He and his wife Zelina Vega were part of a shocking string of releases that came hot on the heels of WrestleMania 42. In total, WWE cut a whopping 23 wrestlers from the roster, including The Wyatt Sicks, Kairi Sane, Black, Vega and a whole host of others across Raw, SmackDown, NXT, Evolve etc.
Elsewhere, legendary announcer Jim Ross was asked via his 'Grilling JR' podcast whether or not he thinks that Aleister/Malakai could make another splash on the All Elite side. Ross noted that he can't completely disagree with those who say Black "is missing something", but that he likes him and would rehire the ex-WWE man "in a heartbeat".
Basically, JR reckons Tony Khan should snap Malakai up if he gets the opportunity. Hopefully, Fightful will clear up their wording ASAP to clarify things further. Watch this space!
