Massive 'Hangman' Adam Page Match Scrapped By AEW (AEW News)
Injuries forced AEW boss Tony Khan into a change of plans for All Out.
Fightful Select's latest write-up includes word on original plans for AEW All Out 2025. According to that, Hangman Page was going to defend his AEW World Title against the returning Wardlow on that show. Interestingly, internal sources tell them that Kyle Fletcher challenging Hangman was actually in the works too, but it seems Wardlow would've been Page's rival at All Out.
Unfortunately, Wardlow suffered a nasty pectoral tear during his comeback angle at Forbidden Door over in London, England. There, the big powerhouse attacked Prince Nana and various security guards following Kazuchika Okada's Unified Title defence vs. Swerve Strickland. It appeared that Wardlow had joined forces with Don Callis and pals too, but that story could be iced due to the severity of his injury.
Now, reigning TNT Champ and breakout star Fletcher will step into the breach for a bout with Hangman first. This is a massive spot for Kyle - he's been steadily rising up through the ranks on the AEW roster for a few years now, and has remodelled himself from promising tag-team hopeful to standalone singles star alongside Callis on Dynamite and Collision.
Fightful also reported that Wardlow will "likely be sidelined for quite some time as things stand", which is a bummer. He'd only just returned from around a year on the shelf, and had been filming some stuff for American Gladiators before roaring back onto AEW screens.
The website added that Wardlow and Fletcher would've interacted on camera going forwards, although it's not clear exactly what they would've been doing. In theory, both would've been stablemates following Forbidden Door.
Hangman Page vs. Kyle Fletcher is now officially on the card for All Out.
