The never-ending back-and-forth between WWE and AEW continued on last night's episode of Dynamite, as The Acclaimed's Max Caster poked fun at the Vince McMahon-helmed promotion's recent shot at the violent Anna Jay/Tay Conti vs. Penelope Ford/The Bunny match on AEW Rampage's 31 December episode.

A WWE official issued the following statement on the aforementioned Street Fight to the Toronto Star last week:-

“If you look at the gory self-mutilation that bloodied several women in the December 31 event on TNT, it quickly becomes clear that these are very different businesses. We had an edgier product in the ‘Attitude’ era and in a 2022 world, we don’t believe that type of dangerous and brutal display is appealing to network partners, sponsors, venues, children, or the general public as a whole.”

Caster, being Caster, took aim at this during The Acclaimed's entrance rap for their match with Sting and Darby Allin, which was Dynamite's main event.

Rapped Caster:-

"The Acclaimed, beating that ass if you're hating // Fighting with us is gory self-mutilation..."

The lines drew an understandable "OH!" from the crowd. In dropping it, Max became the latest AEW wrestler to react to the statement, following on from Conti, who literally stuck a middle finger up to WWE last week.

Cody Rhodes took his own shot at WWE during Dynamite, referencing WALTER's controversial renaming to "Gunther" on this week's NXT 2.0.
