Max Caster & Riho Return During AEW Dark: Elevation Tapings
Riho and Max Caster's AEW returns will air on YouTube on an upcoming Monday.
Last night's AEW Dynamite show in Chicago, Illinois saw the promotion spend a couple of hours taping footage for upcoming episodes of Dark: Elevation before the Wednesday night flagship, with two notable names making their returns.
Max Caster is perhaps the most notable, given his recent presence in the news cycle. Put on ice in early August following a controversial Dark rap featuring a r*pe joke, a line belittling Simone Biles' mental health, and a COVID-19 conspiracy theory, Caster raised the ire of AEW owner Tony Khan, who sent him to sensitivity training in the aftermath.
Now, his period of purgatory appears to be over, as the Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online are reporting that Caster returned to help his Acclaimed partner Anthony Bowens defeat Griff Garrison for Elevation.
The same outlet notes that Riho returned in a victory over indie up-and-comer Skye Blue. This was the former AEW Women's World Champion's first match since 7 July, and ends a period of inactivity enforced by a negative reaction to the COVID-19 vaccine.
Dark: Elevation's next episode airs on YouTube on Monday, 6 September. There's no word on whether or not last night's tapings will be split into two shows.
