Mickie James Offered WWE Contract
Former Women's Champion on her way back to the company?
Wrestling Observer Radio is reporting that WWE has offered Mickie James a contract for a full-time return to the company after her match against Asuka at NXT TakeOver: Toronto.
According to reports, James would be used on the main roster, though there's no word as to whether she'd end up on Raw or Smackdown.
James made her first WWE appearance in more than six years on the October 26 episode of NXT. After having been announced by General Manager William Regal as Women's Champion Asuka's TakeOver opponent two weeks earlier, James cut a promo in front of the live crowd. At TakeOver: Toronto, she was defeated by "The Empress of Tomorrow."
James's first WWE run began in 2003, when she was signed to Ohio Valley Wrestling. After two years in developmental, she debuted on Raw as an obsessed fan of Trish Stratus. Their partnership eventually turned sour when James turned stalker, and the two faced off at WrestleMania 22.
During her first tenure in WWE - which ended in 2010 - she held five Women's Championships and one Divas' Championship. After leaving the company, she joined TNA, where she won the Knockouts' Championship three times.
