Mickie James To Wrestle First WWE Match In Over A Year Next Week
Mickie returned to WWE on last night's RAW.
Mickie James will wrestle Natalya in the returning legend's first WWE match in over a year on next week's RAW.
Returning on last night's show, James told interviewer Sarah Schreiber that she had come back to RAW to be a locker-room leader and chase championships. This led to an interruption from Natalya and manager Lana. The duo ran Mickie down, with Nattie pointing out that she had more wins than any other woman in WWE history, before James ripped her for living off her family name.
The match was then set for RAW, making it the first time James will have stepped between the ropes since suffering a serious knee injury while working Carmella in June 2019. Mickie wasn't away from television completely, though, having stepped in to trial as a commentator on Main Event.
James' current WWE stint began in December 2016. She signed a multi-year deal on the back of an impressive showing opposite Asuka at TakeOver: Toronto a few months prior and slotted into an alliance with Alexa Bliss, with WWE primarily using her as a preliminary wrestler. James' last televised bout was last year's WrestleMania Women's Battle Royal.
