Mike Bennett And Maria Leave TNA
"The Miracle" is gone...
PWInsider is reporting that Mike Bennett and Maria Kanellis have become the latest stars to leave TNA Wrestling, joining the likes of Drew Galloway and The Hardy Boyz. They will not be a part of the company's TV tapings later this week.
Real-life husband and wife Bennett and Kanellis joined TNA at the end of 2015, leaving Ring of Honor in the process. While in ROH, Bennett broke out as a star and captured the company's Tag Team Titles with Matt Taven. Due to ROH's working relationship with New Japan Pro Wrestling, Bennett and Taven traveled to NJPW in 2015 and won the IWGP Tag Team Titles, as well.
While in TNA, Bennett took the nickname "Miracle" and feuded with the likes of Drew Galloway and Ethan Carter III. He was unable to capture the TNA Heavyweight Championship, but in June, he defeated Eddie Edwards to win the X Division Title. Maria, meanwhile, dominated the knockouts' division, winning commissionership of it in a ladder match, and then forcing champion Allie to lay down for her, giving up the title.
Bennett's and Maria's contacts expired at the end of 2016, but they had been working pay-per-appearance deals. According to one source in TNA, the couple initially told the company they would be staying, but then left before signing new contracts.
