The events of last night's episode of NXT gave the impression that the Million Dollar Title might be done in WWE.

Cameron Grimes was crowned the new champion at TakeOver 36, where he defeated LA Knight with Ted DiBiase's assistance. The duo hosted an in-ring celebration to open last night's show before parting ways later on, with Grimes handing the Million Dollar strap to Ted, who was sitting in his limousine.

DiBiase returned the belt to Grimes, saying that when Cameron looks at it, he wants him to remember what they accomplished together. Grimes was duped, though. He realised that the strap was lighter and made of cheaper materials than the original belt, deducing it was a replica from the WWE Shop, though DBiase had driven away before he could do anything about it.

DiBiase introduced the Million Dollar Championship in 1989, using it as a substitute for the WWE Title he had been unable to win or buy prior to that. Deactivated in 1992, it has been brought back several times over the years, with the latest being its NXT reintroduction this past June.

Now, it may be out the door again.
