Odyssey Jones was back on WWE television for the first time in close to a year last night, mounting a comeback during NXT.

The big man's appearance came in a parking lot segment. Edris Enofe and Malik Blade were upset following their defeat to NXT Tag Team Champions Pretty Deadly, with Jones attempting to pick the duo back up. He arrived in a pickup truck (accompanied by several women) and told the defeated tandem they were set to have the time of their lives. Into the truck hopped Blade and Enofe, and off drove the group.

Jones, 28, has been away from WWE since suffering an injury while wrestling Sanga in a bout intended for the now-defunct 205 Live brand. It was announced later that month that Odyssey had undergone surgery for a ruptured patellar tendon, though no word was given on when he might be back.

Originally working under his real name, Omari Palmer, Jones was signed by WWE in February 2019 and made his debut on the house show circuit that November. His televised breakthrough came in July 2021, when he defeated Grayson Waller on 205 Live.

Odyssey was fast becoming an NXT fixture at the time of his injury. It'll be interesting to see how he is pushed following his comeback.
