Missing WWE Raw Wrestler Re-Emerges, Reforms NXT Tag Team
WWE's roster recalibrations continue as a Raw wrestler re-emerges at NXT house show.
Veer Mahaan is back - in tag team form.
The Raw bruiser reformed his old Indus Sher tandem with Sanga at a WWE house show in Citrus Springs, Florida this weekend. Competing on Saturday 24 September, the duo defeated Tuesday night regulars Andre Chase and Bodhi Hayward of Chase U.
This was the first time the two Indian wrestlers have teamed together since January 2021, when Indus Sher and Drew McIntyre defeated Jinder Mahal and The Bollywood Boyz at Superstar Spectacle. The duo's union stretches as far back as September 2018, when they started teaming on untelevised events, not making it to television until doing so with Malcolm Bivens as a manager in April 2020.
Indus Sher's NXT run was short-lived. Their Superstar Spectacle bout came following an unexplained six-month absence, as Mahaan and Sanga (then Rinku Singh and Saurav Gurjar respectively) were taken off TV. Later, Rinku was reborn as Veer, debuting on Raw earlier this year following a lengthy vignette campaign, with Saurav becoming Sanga in NXT 2.0, initially working as Grayson Waller's bodyguard.
Sanga remains an NXT regular. Mahaan, meanwhile, has wrestled only one Raw match since Triple H was appointed WWE's head of creative in July.
Whether or not this house show match signals a full-time return for Indus Sher is unclear.
