Despite plenty of teases and some of the biggest crowd reactions in all of wrestling, there's seemingly no babyface turn coming for Maxwell Jacob Friedman any time soon.

This is according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, who commented that MJF himself is in no mood to make the switch just yet. 'The Salt Of The Earth' was also reported to be one of the top merchandise sellers in the entire company, in spite of him being on the heel side of the divide.

Cheers have grown by orders of magnitude for the AEW original since he made his return to screens at All Out 2022. A worked fallout with management around Double Or Nothing 2022 weekend paid itself off when voicemails of conversations with Tony Khan were played over the speakers to reveal that he'd been paid handsomely to return as the Joker the September's Casino Ladder match.

He won a title shot with ease thanks to the help of associates The Firm, but any remaining story with then-Champion CM Punk was dropped following the incendiary events of the post-pay-per-view scrum.

Absence made the heart grow fond and MJF has been juggling the cheers ever since. It's an act he'll apparently keep up rather than embrace for a little while longer.
