Montez Ford's Words On WWE Splitting Street Profits Up & Going Solo Are Telling
Montez Ford with some interesting thoughts on a potential WWE singles push.
Montez Ford could be on the verge of leaving Street Profits partner Angelo Dawkins behind and embarking on a major singles push if current reporting is to be believed - and the Raw wrestler has now talked up the possibility in an interview.
Speaking with Wrestling Inc.'s Nick Hausman, Montez stated that if the WWE Draft was to send him and Dawkins to separate brands, the Street Profits would still support one another:-
“If the draft happens and they, you know, we’re forced to go our separate ways, we’re definitely going to keep that support there."
Interestingly, he added that he had always dreamed of becoming WWE Champion someday. That dream still lives within him:-
"I know as a kid, speaking for myself, I’ve always had dreams of being a WWE World Champion. That dream just never fades away man. You know, when you’re here, I feel like if you’re not trying to be the guy or the team, then what are you here for? You know besides the money. But still at the same time, like you want to create a legacy.”
Money In The Bank 2022 saw Ford and Dawkins defeated by The Usos, who stirred the pot by saying that they'd heard the Street Profits weren't getting along as they used to prior to the match. Then, following a disputed finish, the Profits were made to walk up the ramp awkwardly.
The Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer reports that WWE is interested in giving Ford a singles push following his recent body transformation. This explains the teased tension on television.
