MORE WWE Departures Confirmed: WWE Studios & International Employees Cut
More details on Tuesday's WWE cuts, as the promotion continues to swing the axe.
WWE has let go of several WWE Studios and international office employees as part of its latest round of cuts.
Yesterday brought reports that the promotion had shed staff in its digital, production, and WWE Network divisions, with Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp reporting a merger between the company's television department and Advanced Media Group. People who worked on the company's official website and YouTube channels were also let go.
The cull included several notable executives, including Executive Vice President of Advanced Media Jaylar Donlan, Senior Vice President of Production Brian Pellegatto, and Executive Vice President of International Television Jay Rosenstock.
Per Deadline, WWE Studios experienced significant releases in Stamford and Los Angeles, writing that "the cuts were deep." President and Chief Revenue Officer Nick Khan reportedly broke the news via telephone, having rapidly grown in power since joining the promotion in August 2020.
PWInsider's Mike Johnson was told the situation was "a bloodbath." In a separate report, Johnson notes that those left in WWE's Advanced Media Group and digital divisions were told they'd now be reporting to the TV department's Kevin Dunn.
It is believed that at least 35 people were let go yesterday.
WWE is currently more profitable than ever before, having announced a record OIBDA of $286.2 million in 2020, with multiple billion-dollar content rights deals to its name.
