Multi-Time WWE Champion Teases One Final Match
"I think about it all that time."
Could Kurt Angle lace up his boots for one more match? Oh, it's true...
Speaking during a Gold Medal Q&A as part of AdFreeShows (via Sportskeeda), the WWE Hall of Famer discussed how he may step back in the squared circle for one last match, although he did detail how his immediate priority is recovering from double knee replacements.
"I'm not gonna like to you, [the thought of an in-ring return] comes across my mind here and there every once in a while, but I just had knee replacements. I'm in no position to think about wrestling right now. It's been two-and-a-half months since I had my knees replaced, both at the same time. It's a little rough doing both of them at the same time, but, you know what, I'm not gonna count out anything."
The Olympic Hero continued:
"I've told so many reporters and people from the news that I was done, but there is a chance that I might end up coming back. I don't know when, but it'll probably be for one last match. I guess I'm putting it out there tonight. I didn't wanna do that until my knees got better, but I'm not gonna lie to you, I think about it all that time. I possibly could [return], yes."
As it stands, Angle's last match came back at WrestleMania 35 back in 2019, where he lost to Baron Corbin in barely six minutes. Kurt would serve as a backstage producer following that bout, before being released by WWE in April 2020 as part of the company's many "budget cuts" of the pandemic era.
The 53-year-old Angle is due to appear on WWE Raw tomorrow night, which emanates from the 13-time World Champion's hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
