NBCUniversal is currently in talks with advertisers in order to secure primetime television ad rates on its Peacock streaming service.

Per Variety, some of Peacock's early sponsorship deals are set to expire later this year, so its parent company, NBCU, is negotiating with current advertisers to maintain exclusivity.

With regards to primetime rates, NBCU is of the belief that streaming should command the same kind of money as conventional television. Advertisers pay more for primetime slots, as their commercials should reach more consumers, and NBCU believes that the Peacock platform gives their partners a similarly broad reach.

Peacock currently runs around five minutes of advertisements per hour.

The WWE Network was partly incorporated into Peacock earlier this week. A full transition will be completed on 5 April, when existing Network subscribers will have to sign up for a new Peacock account. WWE has promised that the full Network archive will be uploaded by SummerSlam 2021 in August.

Peacock is currently offering a seven-day free trial for new subscribers as well as a limited $2.50/month deal for its Peacock Premium service, on which the Network can be found. A regular sub costs $4.99/month with ads or $9.99/month without.
