Netflix Censors WWE Content AGAIN! (WWE News)
Execs at Netflix continue polarising WWE censorship trend. Brock Lesnar was next!
Brock Lesnar's new t-shirt was censored during replays for Monday's Raw show on Netflix.
'The Beast' opened the night with his mouthpiece Paul Heyman and Oba Femi. For the appearance, Brock showcased his new, "Talk Sh*t, Get Hit" shirt. As shown here, one of the letters is replaced by an asterisk to avoid swearing, but apparently that isn't good enough for execs at Netflix.
They blocked out the "Sh*t" word completely by putting a black bar over it during on demand versions. This news comes after the subscription service had already blurred out a bloody Bron Breakker's head/face when he was cracked wide open mid-steel cage bout with Seth Rollins at Night Of Champions over in Saudi Arabia on 27 June.
Blurring Breakker and thus failing to show the violent effects of a longstanding WWE gimmick match was never going to sit well with the core audience or industry critics. Netflix will seemingly continue this censorship practice regardless. Lesnar was next in line to experience it.
It's worth noting that Netflix had previously censored blood shown during a backstage skit involving Gunther and Cody Rhodes last week. The 'Ring General' bloodied Cody, which removed Rhodes from the WWE Title match he had scheduled opposite Sami Zayn. CM Punk then subbed in and won the belt.
Netflix chiefs elected to blur out the claret when replaying that backstage attack scene.
It's unclear whether or not this will persist in coming weeks and months, but there's no evidence of Netflix changing tact going forwards. Censoring Brock's shirt is different from blocking out blood though. It's next level.
